Student association BEST brings you the largest European Engineering Competition – EBEC.
EBEC (European BEST Engineering Competition) is an engineering competition made by students – for students and is held in 21 countries across Europe. EBEC has three levels – the local
level winner gets to goes on to the regional round, and the top 10 Europe teams in each category can show off their skills at the final level which will be once again held in Zagreb after 10 years.
The aim of this project is to encourage students to demonstrate their skills and creativity by competing in two categories: Case Study and Innovative Design.
In Innovative Design teams are solving tasks within a limited time and a limited availability of materials. The desired outcome is a device that has to perform the needed actions.
Innovative Design is a category in which competitors are presented with a problem or need of the market, from which creativity and innovative thinking are expected in the solution. Competitors need to combine their
creativity, technical and economic knowledge and present the impact of their design on society, the environment, economic factors and market competitiveness.
In Case Study category contestants need to provide a solution to a technical or a management problem and to present the outcome they came up with.
Teams are composed of 4 students from technology fields, regardless of status of their degree. The problems they are tasked with are provided by BEST together with their partners.
EBEC Zagreb is the local EBEC level organized by the Zagreb BEST group. The competition will be held on March 12th, 2022.
One of the main goals of the EBEC Zagreb is the promotion and improvement of ambitious Croatian students and their preparation for the domestic and European labour market. Participating in EBEC Zagreb encourages the development of teamwork and organizational skills and the improvement of communication within the group.
Students with the best solutions for given problems will have the opportunity to expand their horizons by participating at the EBEC regional round in and potentially at the final level during July in Zagreb.
